FSAN Roadmap

A key tool for guiding the work of FSAN and the wider industry is a standards roadmap. At present, the 50G-PON (TDM) technology standard has been basically completed, and the pre-research of the next-generation VHSP technology is being carried out in depth. In January 2026, FSAN Optical Access Roadmap 3.0 was released to help guide the wider industry and serve as a stimulus for future standardization and technology development.

With the 2025 re-chartering of FSAN, updates to the roadmaps will be developed and published in due order.

The March 2026 FSAN meeting, the first face-to-face meeting of this year, will be held on March 23–27, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan, kindly hosted by OKI. Please refer to the information package on the FSAN FTP site for the venue descriptions, registration details, visa information, and other logistics.

The meeting is open exclusively for the duly authorized representatives of the FSAN participating companies, ITU-T sector members, and ITU national delegations. To attend the meeting, either in person or remotely, you must establish the eligibility of the entity you are associated with as well as your own credentials to represent that entity.
